Menai Bridge
The Menai Strait separates the island of Anglesey from mainland Wales and is known for its historic bridge and its scenery.
Cwm Idwal
A drive through the area with a short stop for the view. Cwm Idwal is in the national park, is known for its dramatic mountain scenery, and is the oldest National Nature Reserve in Wales. It's well worth stopping to take in the scenery and a few photographs.
Snowdon
Snowdon, Yr Wyddfa in Welsh, is the highest mountain in Wales and England, in Snowdonia National Park. It matters a great deal to Welsh people culturally and historically, it's one of the country's best-known landmarks, and it has inspired artists, writers and poets over the years. We stop by Llyn Gwynant to take in the views of the surrounding mountains.
Beddgelert
Parts of the village date back to the 12th century, and it's one of the prettiest villages in Snowdonia. It grew up around the copper mine worked in the 18th and 19th centuries. There's a short walk along the Glaslyn river, and Beddgelert is famous for its ice cream.
Caernarfon
Caernarfon Castle is one of the most impressive and best-preserved medieval military buildings in Europe. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered one of the finest castles Edward I built. Entry costs £12.50, and we'd recommend allowing 1 to 1.5 hours.

The village has the longest place name in Europe and one of the longest in the world, and plenty of visitors come just for the name.
South Stack
South Stack lighthouse on Holy Island is 200 years old. It's one of the most photographed spots in Wales, and the clifftops have great views.
