This is an example tour itinerary that follows the coast of Wales from South through West to North, with some detours of course for mountains and lakes!

You can choose to visit local sights, such as the castle, Saint Ffagan, Cardiff Bay and museums before beginning touring. We then travel up the former mining valleys now slowly returning to the green hills before the Industrial Revolution. Turning West we head for Pembrokeshire, stopping off at Dylan Thomas' base of Laugharne and visiting Tenby, a spectacularly sited harbour town. Pembrokeshire is a coastal county of picturesque harbour villages, castles and a real gem - the cathedral of St Davids nestling in its hidden valley. The area has many other sights to see from a coracle museum to a blue lagoon.

Heading up the West coast, we can visit the pretty harbour town of Aberaeron. Close by is Llanerchaeron, a beautifully restored country house with a farm that leaps out of the history books. The next major stopping point is Wales' academic capital, Aberystwyth, a University town spectacularly sited between two bays and, as it faces West, ideally placed for picture perfect sunsets over the sea. A popular diversion here is the Vale of Rheidol Steam Railway which winds its way up an impossibly beautiful valley to Devil's Bridge - a story awaits you!

Heading North, we aim for Portmeirion, the hidden but far from secret fantasy village in its dazzling colour and superb architecture. We are now closer to the mountains of Snowdonia and will take several journeys to explore the dramatic landscapes and hear of the myths and legends of this ancient corner of Wales. There are more recent but no less striking places to visit, including Llanberis' National Slate Museum and the beautiful lakes around Mount Snowdon.

Basing ourselves in the ancient castellated and walled town of Caernarfon, we explore the Isle of Anglesey and venture to Conwy and its beautiful valley. You can find out more about North Wales by following the link to Sightseeing Day Tours.

We can begin or end the tours at your chosen location such as any North Wales venue, the capital city of Cardiff or Manchester airport etc.

This is the creative heart of Cardiff Bay - a venue which is as striking from the outside as are its performances on stage.

St David's Cathederal

Ancient Monument

This is the cathedral that breaks all the rules - in a hidden valley, on a sloping site on marshy ground. And yet, the result is stunning and inspiring. There is also a magnificent ruined bishop's palace thrown in!

This timeless scene is redolent of another era - of the slow train rolling through sleepy countryside with hardly a care in the world. Look out of the window and enjoy the scenery and spot a red kite circling above!

Clients love this tour!

Wonderful tour of Wales. We toured Pembrokeshire, Mid-Wales and North Wales with our guide in late August. It was an exciting, eclectic 6 days. Carl created a flexible itinerary that captured our must-see sites and our diverse interests while adding in some hidden gems (we're sworn to secrecy to keep them unspoiled). Overall we had a wonderful time and can't wait to return and do some more touring with Celticos.
