Planning Considerations

  • Local guide
  • Hotel pickup & dropoff

In this section, we aim to help you prepare for your private tour of Wales

1. How many days do you wish to allocate for the tour of Wales?

We recommend at least 5-7 days to enjoy the whole of Wales. If you have fewer days available, we will make sure you have a fantastic tour. See our Multi-day Tours in North Wales for ideas.

2. Where do you wish to start and finish the tour of Wales?

Will you be visiting Wales after staying in another part of the UK and/or your onward travel destinations within the UK or Ireland. Once we have this information we can then plan the most practical route and itinerary for you.

3. Which places would you like to stay overnight in while touring, and for how many nights?

We plan the tour itinerary with you. Once this itinerary is mutually agreed you can book the accommodation of your choice at locations on to the prepared itinerary route.

4. What type of accommodation do you prefer?

You can choose any type of accommodation from a chateau or a farmhouse to a townhouse. There is a wide range of Hotels and Bed & Breakfast guest houses to choose from.

You may want to book the accommodation of your choice and the number of nights you intend staying at the chosen venues; we can then create a touring itinerary based on your accommodation choices.

When staying in the north of Wales we highly recommend that you choose your accommodation in the heartland central area, this will negotiate the need for you to pack and unpack your luggage by staying in one central location.

North Wales Accommodation Advice

If you prefer to have the accommodation booked and arranged on your behalf, once we have agreed on a touring itinerary for you we can contact our booking accommodation partner  Janet Redler Travel & Tourism. They will liaise with you and us to discuss your specific tour itinerary and then offer you a choice of accommodation to meet your needs and requirements.

5. Do you have any specific sites on your wish list to visit?

Are there any places that are really unmissable for you?
What are your particular interests?
Do you have a family connection with Wales?

If you could provide us with this information we can build an itinerary around you the best.

6. How much luggage will you have with you on your travels?

This is important as we need to ensure that the vehicle has the required boot/trunk space.
You'll be travelling in a Mercedes V-Class XLWB, the capacity is 1410 litres. As a guide, this translates for a party of 6 comfortably as one medium suitcase and hand luggage.

7. Have you a specific route and itinerary in mind for your Tour.

Of course, there are many routes that could be considered to tour Wales, please see some examples of our six and eight day example tours and also The Wales Way Tours for some ideas.

Please note. You may prefer to send us a list of your desires, your interests, particular themes  & topics and specific places that you want to visit and we can work with you to create your custom - built route and itinerary.
