Castle Hotel, Conwy

The Castle Hotel stands on Conwy’s High Street, inside the walls of the UNESCO World Heritage town. The site has been an inn since at least the 15th century, when it was two, the King’s Head and the Castle Inn, and it grew into a grand coaching inn; its neo-Jacobean façade was designed in the 1880s by the Chester architect John Douglas.

Princess Victoria and the Duchess of Kent dined here in 1832, and in 1848 it hosted the banquet celebrating the completion of the Conwy railway bridge in honour of George and Robert Stephenson. Today it is an AA 4-star townhouse hotel with 29 rooms and a restaurant serving local produce.
