Places to Stay in North Wales
One example of ideal central location to stay while touring North Wales.

Y Felinheli

Y Felinheli is a historic harbour village beside the Menai Strait, overlooking the Isle of Anglesey. The Welsh-speaking village lies between the city of Bangor and the town of Caernarfon - making it an ideal location to stay if you are travelling by train to Bangor and would prefer to stay in a Welsh village. If arriving by train into Bangor a taxi to the village will cost around £20 depending on the time of day.

The Garddfon Inn
This small waterside inn has five en-suite bedrooms which are all furnished to a high standard, three of which have views overlooking the Menai Strait. The Garddfon has a restaurant and bar, and you can view the menu on their website. It has been rated 9.2 out of 10 on Booking.com (accessed on 7/11/19). Please note, that the sea view rooms are situated over the bar.  It might be quite noisy on weekends - advice on this can be given by the inn when enquiring.

Hotel Port Dinorwic
This hotel overlooks the Menai Strait and the village’s harbour. As well as a restaurant and bar, this hotel also has a swimming pool and sauna. Room sizes vary from twin rooms to family apartments. On TripAdvisor, it is rated 4/5 stars based on 873 reviews (accessed on the 7/11/19).

Ty’n Rhos Country House
This graded as 5* Guest Accommodation by Visit Wales is a short taxi ride away from the village. Located on the open plain just 6 miles from Snowdonia National Park, 5 miles from both Caernarfon and Bangor, 3 miles off the A55 expressway and a 5-minute drive to the Menai Bridge for Anglesey. An ideal location to travel and sight-see the North Wales area, yet in a very quiet and peaceful setting to relax, unwind and enjoy the rural location with open farmland surrounding the property.

Apartments and cottages
If you are looking for more privacy, there are plenty of accommodation choices on a range of accommodation platforms. These range from individual rooms, to apartments and entire houses. As always, it makes sense to research the location so that you can be sure that you can take advantage of the village’s wide choice of eating places.
